Upcycled Christmas Ornaments Made From Washers

Take a trip to the hardware store to make these fun upcycled Christmas ornaments! Flat washers glued together make adorable snowflakes!

I decided to jump the gun on Christmas and make some ornaments for my Random Acts of Craftiness Challenge project.

This month’s challenge was to raid the hardware store and create something original. I decided to use some flat washers to create upcycled Christmas ornaments.

I started with 2 packs of washers (different sizes) and arranged them into patterns I liked on a few pieces of wax paper, all while drinking wine and watching the end of season 2 of Downton Abbey.

After I had a few patterns that I liked I super glued the washers together.

Before they were dry I also sprinkled some glitter on them because I love the way glittery ornaments shimmer on the tree. Be careful not to get glue and glitter on your fingers. I may or may not have sparkle fingers right now…

Once everything was dry I peeled off the wax paper, attached some string and VIOLA!

I’m actually quite pleased with how these came out and may make a few more to decorate our tree (which will be after Thanksgiving. Boo!)

I feel like I’m on challenge overload over here! There was the Pinterest Challenge yesterday and this one today. Did anyone else participate in both? What’d you make!

Check out my other Christmas ornaments crafts, like chalkboard ornaments and 6 different glass ball ideas.
