Why Youโll Love This Recipe
- Creamy and Delicious: Whipped cream cheese and whipped cream combined make a dip that is fluffy, smooth, and tastes amazing. Once you add Oreos, you have one of the best cookies and cream desserts out there!
- Only 5 Ingredients: You can’t go wrong with a dessert that only requires 5 simple ingredients. This Oreo cream cheese dip only contains Oreos, cream cheese, vanilla, powdered sugar, and whipped topping.
- Takes Less Than 10 Minutes to Make: All you need to do is whip together the ingredients, chop some Oreos, and stir it all together. This dessert is ready in a flash without dirtying a bunch of dishes.
Ingredients
- Oreo Cookies: The crunchy chocolate outside and creamy filling of an Oreo is an amazing flavor combination. You can also use other brands of sandwich cookies to make an equally delicious cookies and cream dip.
- Cream Cheese: Give this dip a rich, slightly tangy flavor with cream cheese. Just be sure it’s softened to room temperature to achieve the perfect creamy texture.
- Powdered Sugar: Up the sweetness of this cookies and cream dip with a bit of powdered sugar! The sugar also makes the cream cheese silkier and gives it a fluffy texture.
- Vanilla: A splash of vanilla extract helps bring the flavors together and taste like a cookie.
- Whipped Topping: Make your Oreo cookie dip lighter and fluffier with a little bit of whipped topping. I like to make this cookie dip with Cool Whip.
See the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts, nutritional information, and detailed instructions.

Variations
- Homemade Whipped Cream: Instead of Cool Whip make this dip with a homemade whipped cream. It tastes fresher and gives the dip a fluffier texture! Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to whip heavy cream until it forms the perfect whipped cream.
- Use Different Oreo Flavors: Mix up the flavors of this dip with different kinds of Oreos! Golden Oreos are always available in stores, but Oreo is constantly releasing fun flavors like chocolate-covered pretzel, double chocolate, birthday cake, mint, or java chip.
- Make It Gluten-Free: Did you know Oreo makes gluten-free Oreos? They taste almost identical to the regular cookies and are perfect for making this easy Oreo dip gluten-free!
How to Make Oreo Dip
This Oreo cookie dip is the best quick and easy dessert! It’s like a bowl of cookies and cream frosting but with more cookie pieces.
Step 1: Cream Cheese Mixture. Combine the room-temperature cream cheese, vanilla, and powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl. Mix them by hand, use an electric hand mixer or a stand mixer.
Step 2: Add the Whipped Topping. Next, stir in the whipped cream until it’s completely mixed into the cream cheese mixture.
Step 3: Add the Oreos. Chop up about 12 Oreo cookies into small, medium, and large chunks. Add almost all of the crushed Oreos and crumbs to the mixing bowl. Set aside about 1/8 for later. Stir to combine the cookie pieces into the dip.
Step 4: Top with More Cookie Pieces. Transfer the Oreo cheesecake dip to a serving bowl and sprinkle the remaining Oreo pieces on top. Serve with Oreos or your favorite dippers!

What Dippers Do I Serve with It?
- Strawberries
- Apples
- Nilla Wafers
- Pretzels
- Graham Crackers
Expert Tips
- Smash Instead of Chop: Instead of chopping the Oreos into small pieces, add them to a bag and smash them with a rolling pin.
- Use Chunks of Cookie: Don’t crush the cookies too much. You want some chunks of Oreo cookie to give the dip a little crunch and texture.
- Add the Cookies Last: Add the Oreo pieces after the dip is all mixed and ready to serve so they are still a little crunchy.
- Use a Mixer: Save your arm and wrists some work and use an electric mixer to combine the ingredients! This makes the dip quicker and ensures a creamier texture.

Storage Directions
- Storing: If you have leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. I don’t recommend freezing and thawing this dip because it will become watery.
- Make Ahead: You can make the cream cheese and whipped cream base up to one day in advance. Just store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Mix in the crushed Oreos up to 30 minutes before serving so the cookies stay a little crunchy.
