These peachy margaritas are the perfect refreshing summer cocktail. They are great for warm weather celebrations like Mother’s Day, Cinco de Mayo, or Memorial Day!

Ingredients for a Peach Margarita

  • Tequila – Silver tequila, also called blanco tequila, is the best tequila for this cocktail. Silver tequila has a stronger, clearer taste than gold tequila. It is better for a fruity margarita because it doesn’t mask the sweetness of the peaches. I always have a bottle of Jose Cuervo in my liquor cabinet for margaritas.
  • Triple Sec – This orange liqueur enhances the peach flavor of the margarita. Substitute triple sec for Cointreau, Grand Marnier, or any other orange liqueur you have on hand.
  • Peach Juice – The bold and sweet taste of peach is perfect for a margarita. You can use fresh peach juice or a store-bought juice. If your local store doesn’t carry peach juice, use peach nectar instead. Nectar isn’t 100% fruit juice. It contains water and additional sweeteners, but it works great in a pinch!
  • Lime Juice – No margarita is complete without a bit of fresh lime juice. It adds a distinct margarita flavor and a bit of bright, citrus to the drink.

Make It a Frozen Cocktail!

Make this a frozen peach margarita recipe with a few small changes to this recipe! Instead of using peach juice, use actual peaches with the skins removed. Frozen peaches or canned peaches work well too!

Blend the ingredients in a blender with a handful of ice cubes instead of using a cocktail shaker. The result is a delicious frozen margarita made with fresh peach puree!

How to Make a Peach Margarita

These delicious peach margaritas are the perfect refreshing cocktail for warm weather! This summer drink is the perfect blend of peach and classic margarita flavor.

Step 1 – In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and peach juice.

Step 2 – Add a handful of ice to the shaker. Then firmly place the lid on the cocktail shaker. Shake for 30 seconds to combine the cocktail ingredients and chill them.

Step 3 – Pour into a cocktail glass with a Tajin rim.

For garnish, add a lime wheel and a few fresh peach slices to the rim of the glass.

What Type of Glass Do I Use?

  • Margarita glass – Margarita glasses are ideal for frozen margaritas. They have a stem and a wide mouth. The stem allows you to hold the cocktail without it melting from the warmth of your hands.
  • Short tumbler – Not everyone has a set of margarita glasses at home. So a short tumbler, or rocks glass, is also great for a margarita on the rocks.

How to Rim a Glass with Tajín

Many margaritas are served in a salt-rimmed glass. Adding salt to the rim of a margarita glass enhances the flavor of a good margarita. It also adds a fun and beautiful touch to the drink. This cocktail uses a Tajin seasoning rim instead. Tajín is a Mexican spice mix made with lime, chili peppers, and salt. Peaches are exceptionally sweet, so the Tajin is a nice addition of spice.

First, run a slice of lime along the rim of each margarita glass. This creates a wet and sticky surface for the salt to stick to.

Next, flip the glass upside down and place it in a shallow bowl of margarita salt or Tajin. Margarita salt is a coarse salt made of bigger salt flakes. So they are more visible. It also has a better flavor. If you make a lot of margaritas with a salted rim, consider buying a salt rimmer.

Another option is to add Tajin to a smaller area of the class. Rub a wedge of lime on a quarter of the glass, then roll that section of the glass in the Tajin. This method looks gorgeous but also means you control whether or not you get Tajín in each sip.

Can I Make These Peach Margaritas In a Big Batch?

Margaritas are the perfect big-batch cocktail and you can make them in advance! Multiply the ingredients by the number of guests you wish to serve. Then mix all of the ingredients, without ice, in a large pitcher. Keep the pitcher in the refrigerator until it’s time to serve drinks. Then guests may serve themselves from the pitcher.

How to Store a Peach Margarita

Store Peach Margaritas in an airtight jar or glass bottle in the refrigerator for a week. They are the perfect margarita for a sunny spring day or dining al fresco.
