If you need an easy way to prepare your Thanksgiving meal, try making a turkey in the air fryer! It cuts down on some of the hassle.

Ingredients for Thanksgiving Sliders

  • Slider Buns – One of the great things about sliders is they taste great on any bun or dinner rolls. Mini hamburger buns are an obvious chose, but King’s Sweet Hawaiian Rolls are also delicious.
  • Dijon Mustard – This sweet, spicy, and flavorful mustard is the perfect complement to the flavors of the turkey and leftover cranberry sauce.
  • Provolone Cheese – A delicious, gooey melted cheese is key to any delicious slider. Provolone is a great neutral sliced cheese for these sandwiches, but Swiss cheese or Havarti cheese are also great options.
  • Leftover Turkey – The star of the show is the turkey leftover from Thanksgiving dinner! Cut the turkey into thin slices that fit easily onto the buns or rolls of the sliders. This makes the sliders a little easier to eat.
  • Leftover Stuffing – Grab that true holiday flavor with a bit of stuffing on the sandwiches. One scoop of stuffing for each slider is a great amount. If you’re out of homemade stuffing, it only takes 5 minutes to whip up a small bowl of stuffing mix.
  • Cranberry Sauce – This sauce is sweet and tangy, it’s the perfect kick of flavor for a slider.
  • Butter – A coating of melted butter adds a crunchy, golden brown crust on the top of the sliders.
  • Rosemary and Spices – Mix dried rosemary into the melted butter, along with garlic, salt, and pepper, to add more flavor.

How to Make Thanksgiving Sliders

These Thanksgiving Leftover Sliders are so simple to make. They are the perfect way to serve leftovers to holiday guests, or to enjoy on game day.

Step 1 – Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish with olive oil. Arrange the bottoms of the slider buns in the baking dish in rows of three. The rows need to be packed tightly.

Step 2 – Spread an even layer of Dijon mustard across the bottom buns. Then add a layer of provolone cheese slices. The cheese doesn’t need to be cut to fit the buns. All of the ingredients should overlap across the tightly packed buns.

Step 3 – Layer on thinly cut slices of leftover turkey breast. Smaller pieces of turkey also work well. Then add leftover stuffing and cranberry sauce.

Step 4 – Place the tops of the buns over all of the sliders. Then melt a few tablespoons of butter in the microwave. Stir salt, pepper, dried rosemary, and garlic powder into the melted butter. Use a basting brush to spread the rosemary butter over the top of the rolls.

Alternative Ingredients for Leftover Turkey Sliders

  • Mayonnaise – This condiment is one of the most obvious additions to a turkey sandwich. The only reason why it isn’t part of my recipe is because I can’t eat mayonnaise. If you can and you enjoy it, then add it!
  • Sweet Potatoes – Leftover sweet potatoes, or sweet potato casserole, adds sweetness and rich flavor to the mini turkey sandwiches. Don’t layer potatoes directly on top of the bottom buns or else they will be soggy.
  • Leftover Ham – Some families serve ham as part of their Thanksgiving feast. This recipe works great for ham sandwiches or a mix of ham and turkey.
  • Gravy – Use leftover gravy on these turkey cranberry sliders for a little extra saltiness.
  • Green Bean Casserole – If you really love this Thanksgiving dish and like it on your traditional turkey sandwich, then absolutely add it to your sliders.

How to Store Leftover Thanksgiving Sliders

Honestly, I don’t recommend storing any remaining sliders They’re made with leftovers that have already been reheated and refrigerated at least once. Reheating and storing food repeatedly compromises the safety of eating leftovers. Safe storage also depends on how many days you store the original leftovers.
