Movies help build excitement for events and holidays. They are my favorite way to mark special occasions with my kids. In spring we watch Easter and spring themed movies. There are so many fun Easter movies on Disney Plus. These movies feature bunnies and egg hunts. There are also a lot that focus on spring in general.

Easter Movies on Disney Plus
Ice Age: The Great Egg-scapade – Sid decides to become an egg-nanny. However, the eggs are stolen under his watch. With the help of his friends, Sid must find the eggs. This leads to the first egg hunt and the creation of other “Easter” traditions.
Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo – Roo is so excited for Easter with all of his friends. But Rabbit decides to skip Easter in favor of Spring Cleaning Day. It’s a fun Easter twist on A Christmas Carol, with Rabbit being Scrooge.
Burrow – An animated short about a rabbit that tries to build the burrow of her dreams. Except, she doesn’t know what she’s doing and won’t ask for help. She finds herself deeper and deeper in her mistakes. Any movie starring bunnies is a great springtime/Easter choice.
Spring Movies on Disney Plus
The Wonderful Spring of Mickey Mouse – A series of three animated shorts starring Mickey and all of his friends. The friends explore different aspects of spring in a unique nature documentary. It’s full of outlandish hijinks and slapstick comedy. Just be wary of the slapstick elements if you’re adverse to cartoon violence.
Tinkerbell – Tinkerbell sets out to find a new talent so she can travel to the mainland and help bring sping. The journey of self-discovery features elements of nature and spring against a magical background. Any of the Tinkerbell movies feature a lot of nature and are perfect Spring movies.
Silly Symphony: The Goddess of Spring – An animated short that uses operatic music to tell the legend of the goddess Persephone and the creation of the seasons. The legend of Persephone is a little scary. She is kidnapped by Pluto, ruler of the underworld. In the cartoon, Pluto looks like a devil. Persephone’s absence and sadness creates winter. Her yearly return home creates spring.
Bambi – The classic movie about a young deer named Bambi exploring his forest home with his friends Thumper the rabbit and Flower the skunk. As he grows up Bambi is faced with the tragedies and joys of living in the forest. Everyone is familiar with the tragedy of Bambi. Be wary with young audiences. Bambi confronts death and fear throughout this movie.
Movies with Strong Nature Themes on Disney Plus
Fantasia 2000 – A series of shorts inspired entirely by music. Many of the shorts feature themes involving nature. The Carnival of the Animals is a spin on Noah’s Ark. Donald Duck is the star. And Symphany No. 5 features a spectacular pod of whales. There is no talking in the animated shorts, only music. Some scenes may be intense for younger audiences because of the intensity of the music.
The most stand out “spring” short is The Firebird Suite. This short features an embodiment of nature that is destroyed, only to rise again from the ashes like a phoenix.
Zootopia – A buddy cop animated comedy about a rabbit, Judy. She is the first rabbit on the Zootopia police force. But she has to team up with a con-artist fox to solve a big case. There are many different animals and habitats represented in the city of Zootopia. Those elements make it a great Spring movie. Plus, the main character is a bunny. And bunnies equal Easter. ๐
