Build a DIY Farmhouse Nightstand

ATTEMPTS AT DOMESTICATION

A guide with building instructions and a cut list for building a simple DIY nightstand with a drawer and a shelf.

ATTEMPTS AT DOMESTICATION

Follow the cut list in the post to make all of the needed cuts to create a nightstand.

ATTEMPTS AT DOMESTICATION

Assemble the sides of the nightstand by attaching the legs to the side pieces using a pocket jig.

I recommend the Kreg Jig pocket jig for creating pocket holes.

Once the sides are assembled, attach them to the back apron. Add 2x2 support beams to the front and center.

Use 3 5/8" dowels to create tracks for the drawer. One in the bottom center and two on the top sides.

The drawer is an 11" box. Cut a 1" by 1" square into the bottom of the drawer back piece for the slide track.

Assemble the top with four 1x4's, wood glue, and pocket holes for added stability.

This nightstand is the perfect accessory to a farmhouse style bedroom on a budget.
