Build Your Own Farmhouse Dining Table

A guide, with building instructions and a cut list, for a simple DIY farmhouse table. This table seats up to 8 and is inexpensive to build.

Construct the table apron using 1x4's. Be sure to countersink the screws!

Attach 7 supports inside the apron. Add 4 additional mitered cross-supports to the corners too.

Attach chunky 4x4s to each corner for the legs using wood glue and 2" screws.

Prep for paint by using wood filler to fill holes and imperfections. Sand the entire base, then prime and paint.

Tip: Sand and stain the bottoms and sides of the tabletop boards. This prevents any unstained wood peaking through.

Attach tabletop boards using countersunk screws along the ends.

Sand, stain and seal the tabletop. This table is stained Dark Walnut and sealed with a matte polyurethane.
