Ingredients Needed for this Dessert Dip
- Cream cheese
- Cool Whip
- Strawberry compote

How to Make Strawberry Fluff Dip
This strawberry dessert dip is incredibly simple to make! Start with 4 ounces of cream cheese. You can use a block of cream cheese or a pre-whipped version.
Whip the Cream Cheese
I like to use a block of cream cheese and whip it with a hand mixer for a minute or two. The mixer makes the cream cheese softer and easier to stir.
Next, add a cup of strawberry compote. Whip the compote into the cream cheese using a hand mixer. The mixer ensures that the mixture is light and fluffy. And it helps the compote become fully incorporated into the cream cheese.

How to Make Strawberry Compote
A compote is a sweet and chunky fruit sauce. Compote is made by cooking fresh, or frozen, fruit in a mixture of water, sugar, and spices. I made my strawberry compote with frozen whole strawberries, water, and sugar.
Bring one cup of water to a simmer on the stove. Then add a cup of white granulated sugar to the water. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Once the sugar is dissolved, add 1 1/2 cups of frozen strawberries. Simmer the strawberries in the sugar syrup until they cook down. They will turn very mushy. And the syrup will turn red. Drain the excess syrup from the pan. Then pour the compote into a bowl and chill it in the refrigerator. After the compote chills, add it to the dip.
*Bonus Tip: Drain the syrup from the compote into a glass jar. Store it in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. It is strawberry simple syrup! Perfect for adding to cocktails, like a rose spritzer, or an ice cream sundae!*
Mix 4 ounces of Cool Whip into the strawberry compote and cream cheese mixture. Then add a tablespoon of strawberry simple syrup. The strawberry syrup is optional. I add it for extra flavor. It also deepens the color of the strawberry fluff dip!
Scoop the strawberry fluff into a small bowl. Top it with a large fresh strawberry for garnish.

Double It Up!
If you’re preparing this dessert dip for a large group, double the recipe! Use 8 ounces of cream cheese. That’s an entire block, so it’s easy to measure. Use a full 8-ounce tub of Cool Whip. And prepare two cups of strawberry compote instead of one!
What to Serve with Strawberry Fluff
Strawberry Fluff dip pairs well with a variety of cookies, like graham crackers or Nilla Wafers. It also goes well with strawberries, of course. Another fun option is pretzel chips! The flat chips are great for scooping. And the flavor is like a Strawberry Pretzel Salad. That was a family favorite when I was a kid!

How to Store This Dip
Store strawberry fluff dip in the refrigerator for up to three days in an airtight container. You could also store it in a serving bowl covered in plastic cling wrap for about 24 hours.
If you make a big batch of this dip, consider storing a portion in the freezer! It will keep for about a month. But remember, do not thaw and refreeze! Then, you have additional opportunities to serve this fun dip without any extra work.
