I love using colors like green, blue and pink in my spring home decor. The happy colors bring brightness and joy to the inside of my home.
Usually when I write about Spring, I write about how (despite my allergies) it’s my favorite season. I talk about flowers blooming and the world coming back to life. And how I truly believe that April 1st should be the start of the new year instead of in January. But this year doesn’t feel that way.
I was looking forward to Spring. We had plans to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries and the seasonal opening of our favorite theme park. Now, all of those plans are up in the air and I don’t know what Spring holds. I am glad that before the uncertainty set in, I pulled out my spring home decor. The happy colors and flowers make for a bright spot safely inside our home. I used all of my favorite colors like green, blue and pink. Sometimes I forget how our surroundings inside can be just as important as the weather outside.

**My decor was inspired by a box of home decor that I received from Decocrated. It’s a quarterly subscription for home decor. I’m doing a campaign for Decocrated and was compensated with a Spring box.**
My 2020 Spring Home Decor

I received another seasonal box from Decocrated to spruce up my house for Spring and this box was my JAM! Every color and piece was something that fit perfectly with my style and the colors that I love. I was especially excited for the dusty blue pillow covers for my couch! Quality pillow covers that can withstand small children can be hard to find. These are such great quality and they’re soft too. I’ve had the floral pillow covers for a few years and the dusty blue goes with them so well. I love our couch, but sometimes it can feel heavy visually. A few fun pillows always help with that! I also found a fun pink pillow at Target that I added, with a few gold patterned pillows.

Behind the couch is my second favorite piece of spring home decor from this Decocrated box, the art! The featured artist for the Spring box is Kelly Merkur and her pieces are stunning. I love the mix of varying shades of pink with the grays and blues, all set over a deep navy. It’s truly stunning. I also think it compliments the large piece of art that Jesse made for me very well. They have similar colors but aren’t alike in style. The art came framed in wood frame with a very light, natural finish that also makes it stand out in my house. I usually like dark finishes or white ones, but this one is growing on my and may find it’s way worked into my home more often.

My mantel for Spring this year is very sentimental. Our wedding anniversary is in April, so I usually bring out a wedding photo or two to incorporate into my decor, but this year I made it the focus. I layered my favorite picture from that day (well actually the day after) with Jesse’s art from my winter mantel and a framed piece of the wallpaper that I used in my master closet makeover. Then in front of all that I added a piece from the Winter Decocrated box that merely says “there may be no thing greater than a life well loved.” The piece is simple, so it doesn’t take focus away from the photo and art behind it. I flanked it with two gold candle votives because Spring nights can still be chilly and need a bit of coziness.

On either side of the art are faux floral arrangements. Both have green and purple flowers, which were Jesse and I’s wedding colors. Actually, the flowers in the tin watering can are my wedding bouquet. Jesse and I were on a very tight budget for our wedding and neither of us realized how expensive flowers would be. We didn’t want to forgo bouquets, so we found a woman that did faux floral arrangements out of her garage. She was so kind and worked with our budget and the end result was gorgeous. I love that I get to keep my bouquet forever too. Jesse also still has his boutonniere in a shadow box in our room. I definitely don’t regret doing faux flowers at all.

The flowers on the other end of the mantel were actually decorations from one of my bridal showers, that I then used at the wedding, and then packed up to save and use again in the future. I’m kind of a craft supply hoarder in that way. They are arranged in a black lantern from this season’s Decocrated box. I love the simplicity of the lantern and how it allows the beauty of the flowers to shine through. The purple roses are held by a small gold vase that was also in my Spring box. Like I said, this season’s box of spring home decor was SO good!

Sometimes with seasonal decor in my house, how I decorate the living room doesn’t necessarily “flow” with the rest of the downstairs, but that is definitely not the case with this Spring home decor. The light and airy feel, paired with the greens, blues and pinks, is a perfect match to the decor that’s up all year round in the dining room. The cohesiveness and the colors have helped create a space that I’m truly loving. I feel like that is the greatest feeling that I can get from my house right now, since I’m going to be inside it so much. I have other plans for the house, but I don’t know when they will come together. For now, I’m happy!
