How to Build a Spooky Skeleton Charcuterie Board
Create your own Skull Halloween-themed board with a few simple snacks from your local grocery stores. This board is simpler and more kid-friendly than one with a brie skull or a variety of meats.
Step One – Place two small bowls of blackberries on the board for the skeleton’s eyes. The bowls should be near the top on either side of the center of the board. Place the eyes first to determine how large the skull should be.

Skull Outline
Step Two – Arrange marshmallows in the shape of a skeleton skull. Start with a rounded arch across the top of the board. Then create the jaw at the bottom of the board. The jaw is about 4 vertical marshmallows wide. Place one horizontal marshmallow above each end of the jaw. Then place another marshmallow above each of those. Arrange the marshmallows so they look like stairs with each new layer starting in the middle of the layer before it. This gives the jaw a tapered appearance.
Step Three – Fill in the rest of the skull outline and connect the top to the jaw.

Skull Filling
Step Four – Stack about 6 White Reece’s cups in the bottom of the jaw space. Fill in the space so the board doesn’t show through.

Step Five – Pile white chocolate pretzels in the remaining jaw space and at the lower portion of the head. Cover as much of the board as possible.

Step Six – Arrange Peeps Ghosts across the skull just below the eyes. Fill in any remaining space below the marshmallow ghosts with more pretzels if needed.

Step Seven – Fill in the area above and between the skeleton’s eyes with popcorn.

Step Eight – Finish the skeleton charcuterie board with a piece of black licorice as the mouth. You may need to trim the licorice down to size.

What Size Board Should I Use?
My board is 18″ in diameter. I purchased my board from HomeGoods. It’s a great place to find cheese boards on a budget. Just be sure your board is labeled “food safe” and isn’t for home decor. Food-safe boards are treated with food-safe wax to keep harmful substances from leaching into your food.

Can I Make This Halloween Snack Board in Advance?
Yes! Since this board doesn’t use any dairy or meat it doesn’t need to remain refrigerated. I wouldn’t recommend making it a day in advance because the marshmallows will be stale.

This spooky snack is a great addition to any Halloween gathering. The different textures of the food give the board dimension, even though everything is white.
