Tips for Hosting a Girls’ Night In – Party Rockin’ Series
Going out with friends is always a blast, but nights in are the best! What’s better than a night in comfy clothes with all your favorite girlfriends? Nothing! Here are a few tips for hosting a girls’ night in!
One of my favorite types of events to host is girls’ nights. They are so laid back and fun, seriously nothing beats a night with the girls! It wouldn’t be a party though without drinks, food and some atmosphere π
For hosting a girls’ night, my go-to beverage is always wine. I usually buy a bottle of wine, I prefer Chardonnay or Reisling, or whip up a sangria to share. I also encourage people coming to bring a bottle of wine, that way there is plenty to go around π Also, make sure to have water or another drink on hand for any of your friends that may not be up for drinking a lot.
What better food to go with wine than some cheese! My favorite is sharp white cheddar with wheat thins, but it’s a real treat whenever anyone brings some brie or a different type of cheese. Again, let people bring things! It’s a great way to try new things or add some diversity to your gathering! And no ladies night would be complete without CHOCOLATE! I always try to make brownies or cookies to have in addition to some sort of chocolate bars. If I really feel like going all out I’ll sometimes make chocolate-covered strawberries, which are always a hit.
Since most of the time girls’ night involves sitting around in my living room and chatting I love to set up candles on my large fireplace and lighting them to create some ambiance. Plus, they make my house smell great which is always a plus. I also try to make sure my house is clean when I have other ladies over, you never know when someone’s going to want to see how you decorated your bedroom.
Having a movie to watch or a game to play is always a great plan when you invite people over, but if your friends are anything like mine you won’t need them. Usually, we can get together and talk for hours without any sort of game or movie. π
How often do you hang out with your girlfriends? What does a typical girl’s night look like for you?

Girls’ nights are awesome! When we had my bachelorette party we realized we needed more of those, we had a great time. Also last New Year’s Eve it was just us girls and it was so much fun, too.
I love a good girls’ night! Plus, wine and chocolate is always fun π We usually get together in the city and do either brunch or dinner and get a bunch of food and share it all but I really like the idea of getting together at someone’s place, esp. with the cold weather starting!
We usually have fiesta girls nights! We each bring some part of queso, or tacos, or nachos and then drink margaritas and laugh till our bellies hurt. Girls nights are the best nights!
okay and when are you hosting a blogger ladies night? because I am there. You mentioned the three magic words…wine…cheese…and chocolate. Does it get any better than that?
Love a good girls night! I have been thinking about organizing one for Christmas – I love Christmas time!!
I love girls nights. I have one tonight actually. My best friend and I formed a Bunko group just so we could get out of the house once a month. Sometimes we get to talking so much we never even make it to the game!
I’m with Lyndsay… bloggers girls night! π
I wish I had more girlfriends in CA… all of my best girl friends are back in NY. π
But perhaps I just need to be proactive! You’ve inspired me to plan a few get-togethers!
Ooh so fun! Chocolate + alcohol always leads to a good time!
It’s been a while since I’ve had a good girls night! The last one definitely involved wine…lots of wine π
What a fun night. I am sure your friends love coming over to your house. I hope you and your friends continue to make girls night a priority. It’s so easy to fall out of touch. This is inspiring me to arrange my own girls night.
How fun! Those strawberries look great π I must confess I don’t really have girls nights anymore lol. Pretty much all of my friends have moved away, and while we’re definitely still in contact, we’re not really close enough to have girls nights π O well π
Love girls nights!! Your chocolate covered strawberries looks scrumptious; I’m sure your girlfriends love girls night at your house b/c you’re such a great hostess!
Not enough – but a good girls night is the best! I’m also a big fan of chocolate covered strawberries – and wine tastes great with anything!
