My Greatest DIY Project to Date – Pregnancy Announcement
Hello? Anyone out there? I know that the blog has been quiet for sometime now, but I have been working on a very special DIY project. Yep, this is a pregnancy announcement. Yep, Jesse and I are having a baby! And for me this first trimester has been tough. I’ve been very sick and my energy level has been at zero. After work I’ve literally been going straight to bed, and almost once a week I’ve totally missed work due to being sick. I’m hoping that the further I get into the second trimester the more I will feel like myself though! And hopefully get back to this blog, which I really have missed terribly.
The Struggles of Getting Here
Actually, to be totally honest over the past year I was struggling with who I was. I was not motivated to do anything creative and was kind of depressed. A lot of that had to do with Jesse and I trying to get pregnant and it just not happening, some of it was work stresses. Trying to conceive was a hard process for us. I struggled with ovarian cysts, pulled a muscle in my back, and in late June we lost a pregnancy. After we lost our first pregnancy, about a week after we found out we were expecting, we decided to step back from trying.
We booked a trip to Disney World and tried to relax. Well, we never made it to Disney because low and behold the next month we found out we were expecting again, and this one has stuck! Despite feeling so sick and tired all the time, I have a joy that I finally will get to be a mom and it is definitely breathing new life into me. I’ve had so many nursery ideas and I’ve got a long list of projects that we need to finish, and I can’t wait to get started!
All that being said, this has been a journey for me and I want to celebrate every step. This includes weekly bump updates here on the blog. If those aren’t your cup of tea, if anyone is even out there anymore ha! feel free to skip. This won’t be a total mommy blog, but it will get a regular mention. So without further ado, now that I’ve shared the pregnancy announcement, here’s the Week 13 bump!
Congrats! I love following bump watches. So sorry for the loss of your first baby. I love following along with other moms who “keep it real” during their pregnancy and after so I’m definitely staying tuned. Good luck on all that is ahead.
Thank you so much Rebecca! I definitely plan on keeping it real!
Oh wow!! Congratulations! I will pray for a safe and healthy pregnancy. That first trimester is a doozy, huh?
Thanks so much Eliesa! It’s definitely been a doozy!

im so so so excited for you guys!!! Congrats!!
Congratulations!! I’m super happy for you guys! Your story sounds almost exactly like ours. We too struggled, conceived, miscarried and decided to take a break to find out we were expecting the next month as well. I also had ovarian cysts (PCOS) so I get the stress and depression. I’m so glad things are working out well for you and I hope your sickness subsides and you can truly enjoy the second trimester! My daughter just turned one and it’s such a fun experience to watch them grow! All the best!
You know I’m excited! Just so happy for you. This is all you both have wanted for a while and that makes me so happy for y’all. And the announcement is so great.
