Mummy Snacks and Crescent Moon Pizzas for a Moon Knight Snack Board

Snack boards are a fun way to make a movie night or holiday extra special. But they always seem so elaborate and time-consuming. I love to create fun boards that are easy. Usually, that involves sticking to a specific theme. These mummy snacks and crescent moon pizzas are quick and simple to create. They are perfect for Halloween or a themed movie night.

I made my crescent moon snack board to celebrate the premiere of Marvel’s Moon Knight on Disney Plus. Moon Knight is a character from Marvel Comics that was given supernatural abilities by an Egyptian moon god. His costume is reminiscent of an Egyptian mummy and his signature weapon is two crescent moon-shaped blades. The crescent weapons and mummy aspects served as the inspiration for the snacks on this Moon Knight board. I made Oreo mummies, pretzel mummies, and crescent moon pizzas and arranged them with other snacks in the shape of a crescent moon.

Oreo Mummy Snacks

Mummy Oreos are such a simple way to great a fun treat. These cookies are excellent for Halloween. But they are also a fun snack to accompany a lesson on mummies and Ancient Egypt. Or while watching a mummy movie or show. Like Moon Knight!

Crescent Moon Pizzas

Crescent moon pizzas are fun savory snacks. They are full of pizza flavor but fit in your hands without a lot of mess. These moon-shaped snacks are the perfect addition to any snack board. I added them to my Moon Knight board because they look similar to his crescent weapons.

Ingredients

• Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
• Marinara sauce
• Mozzarella cheese
• Pepperoni
• Melted garlic butter
• Parsley

How to Make Cresent Moon Pizzas

Open a can of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. On a sheet of parchment paper, separate the rolls out. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce in the center of each roll. Next, slice mozzarella cheese and pepperoni into thin strips. Place two strips of cheese and three strips of pepperoni at the widest end of each roll. Then roll the cheese and pepperoni up inside the rolls. Pull and curve the ends of each Crescent Roll to ensure they bake in the shape of crescent moons.

Arrange the crescent moon pizzas on a non-stick baking sheet. In a small ramekin, heat two tablespoons of butter. Stir a teaspoon of fresh or powdered garlic into the melted butter. Using a silicone baking brush, brush the garlic butter over each pizza. Top the pizzas off with a sprinkle of dried Parsley. Then bake according to the Pillsbury Crescent Roll package’s directions.

Now that all of the snacks are prepared, let’s make a crescent moon snack board! My snack board is for the Moon Knight premiere on Disney Plus. But this board would be great for a variety of themed parties or movie nights!

Moon Knight Snack Board Ingredients + Supplies

• Mummy Oreos
• Mummy Pretzels
• Black licorice
• Apple slices
• Crescent moon pizzas
• Round wooden (food safe) serving platter or cutting board

Create a Crescent Moon Snack Board

Start this crescent moon snack board by arranging the black licorice to form half of a crescent moon. The tip of the moon should be at the top-center of the board. Follow the outer curve of the board with licorice. Then form the inner curve of the moon. Remember, to stop the licorice just below the middle of the board.

Next, fill in the top half of the crescent moon with the Oreo mummy snacks. Then, fill the bottom half of the crescent with apple slices. Fill in any gaps with more black licorice.

Form the bottom half of the crescent moon with the crescent pizzas. Arrange a row of pizzas following the curve of the board. Then create the inside row. Stack the rest of the pizzas to fill in any gaps.

Since the Oreo mummy snacks, apples, and crescent moon pizzas only take up half of the board, arrange the pretzel mummies outside of the moon. The long pretzels fill the space, but are still on theme!

Serve this fun snack board for a Halloween party or mummy movie night.
