March 2019 Favorites

For as long as winter drags on, I’m always surprised by how quickly time flies when the weather starts to warm up. It’s like the days are longer, but the months are shorter! March marks the start of my favorite time of year, our “busy season” from now until July we will have something major going on every other week. It’s a season of birthday parties, holidays and travel. We get to shake of the cobwebs and get back to really living life. I don’t know what it is, but just like the flowers I really feel like I blossom in the spring. It’s game time and I am ready! Here’s my March 2019 favorites!

Amazon | Costco

If you follow my Instagram Stories, then you may have seen that I was on the hunt for “house shoes” this month. I needed a pair of shoes to wear around the house while cleaning, cooking and playing hide and seek. However, I didn’t want slippers. I was looking for more of a sneaker type shoe, but extremely inexpensive. I have issues with sciatica and an unstable pelvis, so shoes help alleviate a lot of the pain that comes with that. Plus, I feel more put together and ready for the day when I’m wearing shoes. I was looking for “house shoes” because I don’t like to wear shoes in the house. The bottoms of shoes are so gross and I’ve got a baby arm crawling everywhere, so I don’t want her crawling through that. I found these Adidas Lite Racer slip-ons at Costco for $20 and they have been AMAZING. They offer a good amount of support (I actually haven’t had a lot of hip pain since wearing them regularly!) and are super easy to slide on and off. I have forgotten to not wear them out of the house a few times *face palm* but I just washed the bottoms and disinfected them and called it good. I was so surprised to find such a good shoe at Costco, so I’m definitely going to keep my eyes peeled for more shoe deals in the future! If you aren’t a Costco member, you should be able to find them on Amazon. I always have to size down a whole size in Adidas shoes, so keep that in mind!

Target

I love candles. They provide such a warm glow and make everything more homey. I also love that they make my house smell clean, even when it’s absolute chaos. My all time favorite scent is Peach Prosecco by Signature Soy. It’s at Target and almost always on sale. Plus, it smells divine! It’s slightly sweet and floral without being too overwhelming. I go through at least 3-4 big ones every spring/early summer because I always have one lit. I especially love when I can light a candle and open the windows so the smell really spreads through the house.

Ok, so Etsy isn’t anything new and everyone knows what it is, but my love has recently been renewed. I ordered my Minnie Mouse ears for Disney World from an Etsy vendor, Cali and Me Boutique! They were such high quality and so adorable. I also found some great printables for Mara’s Mary Poppins themed birthday party. Actually, the cupcake toppers and invitations were also from Etsy shops. Mara loves the original Mary Poppins and without Etsy I have no clue where I would have found decorations for her party. Shout out to the Etsy shops that helped me pull that off! Target

Several weeks ago my blow dryer exploded while I was using it. Sparks and smoke flew and it was no more. It’s not really surprising considering that I’d had it since high school. I did a little bit of research and bought the Revlon Laser Brilliance Shine hair dryer from Target. I just recently started blow drying my hair more regularly so I wasn’t looking to spend a lot. I love this thing! The drying time is so much quicker and my hair is much smoother and less frizzy. I don’t dread having to dry my hair as much anymore because I don’t feel like I’m standing there for hours. I’m so glad my old hair dryer bit the dust so I could get this one instead!

Spotify

The Jonas Brothers are back and I couldn’t be more excited! I LOVED the Jonas Brothers and had posters of Joe on my dorm room walls. Yep, even in college I was a JO BRO fan girl. And Joe and I are the same age, so it’s not weird. At all. My college roommate and I used to blast their albums all the time. I never really stopped listening to them either. I have several songs on a playlist called “Mom’s Disney Jams” on Spotify that I play for the girls all the time. Mara even has a favorite Jonas Brother, Kevin. Not sure why or how, but Kevin and her are apparently great friends. All of that to say that I was FREAKING STOKED when the Jonas Brothers reunited and released Sucker. It is my JAM! I know it came out at the beginning of March, but my obsession is still going strong. I have my fingers and toes crossed that there will be a tour announced soon because I will be there! I used to be a kid blasting Jonas Brothers in my mom’s minivan, now I’m a mom blasting it in my Kia Soul.

ZZQ

March 2019 favorites

This is another one that should be familiar if you follow my Insta, but we are obsessed with this local BBQ spot. ZZQ started as a food truck/pop-up at a local brewery a few years ago, but they opened a permanent restaurant last year. It is central Texas style BBQ and it is AMAZING! We go almost every weekend because we can’t get enough. My absolute favorites are the pulled pork, jalepeno mac and cheese and black strap collard greens, but honestly, it’s all delicious! If you live in the Richmond area and haven’t been you are missing out! And if you aren’t from Richmond, next time you are be sure to check it out!
