It’s Been Real – 2013 Recap
I can’t believe that tomorrow is the last day of 2013! Where does the time go? I feel like the year just started and it’s already over! But it’s a good feeling to be able to look back and see how much was accomplished this year. Let’s look back at some of 2013 most popular posts! Enjoy this 2013 recap!
We made an upholstered headboard, built a nightstand, installed a ceiling fan, and hung some typography art in our master bedroom. I finally started working on the dining room by painting, hanging curtains, and starting a plate display.
The living room also got some new paint and I created an accent wall with a 3D wall quote.
Of course there were a lot of crafts like fabric flowers, gold dipped lamps and vases, a felt wreath, a Mary Poppins pumpkin and a snowflake wreath.
We also shared quite a few recipes this year and you all discovered that I’m basically obsessed with Mexican food. There are recipes for chicken tortilla soup, chicken enchiladas and knock-off Chipotle burrito bowls, plus Jesse made sushi and the most delicious pumpkin bread.
Jesse even got in on the blogging action with his financial planning series. He covered topics from creating a budget, saving money, paying bills the first half of the month and then paying them the second half.
2013 was also an amazing year for the blog. When I first started this blog I never would have imagined that I could have accomplished so many amazing things in just one year! I was published in a magazine (You can find that here. I’m on page 44), worked with JoAnn Fabric and Crafts on 3 separate campaigns, which lead to features on their website, YouTube channel and Pinterest accounts and thanks to the JoAnn PR team I was asked to appear on the local news for a crafting demonstration just a few weeks ago! Here’s hoping that more doors continue to open this next year!
On a more personal note, Jesse and I also took the trip of a lifetime to Scotland, London and Paris in September. I still can’t believe that we actually got to do something that we’ve talked and dreamed about for so many years.
So here’s to you 2013! 2014 sure has a lot to live up to!
What is your favorite 2013 memory? Are you ready for the new year?

That headboard still amazes me! I think that is SO cool! Looks like you had a great year 🙂
You got a lot done! I was out of it the last half of the year and I think I missed that Mary Poppins pumpkin. It is adorable. She is one of my favorite characters. Hope 2014 blows your socks off!
What a wonderful year! You have accomplished so much and I love all your projects. Here’s to 2014!
You guys were busy this year. I’m already getting excited looking forward to the new year and new projects… now to find time to actually do them.
