I’m so excited to see February come to end! Mostly because it means that we are one step closer to Spring! Going to Florida and enjoying the warm weather just has me totally over winter. I’m ready for sunshine and time outside. February was still a great month though. We celebrated Jesse’s birthday and Valentine’s Day. Mara was so excited to make valentines for her dad, sister and grandparents. I let her use glitter and I think it was the highlight of her little life. My favorite things this month were really random, and unexpected, but I love them none the less. I am constantly discovering new things thanks to the bloggers that I follow, so I figured I would do the same. Maybe I can help you find one of your new favorite things! Here’s my February 2019 favorites!

If you follow me on Instagram, then you’ve probably heard me rave about the Invisibobble. I am OBSESSED! Basically, the Invisibobble is a hair tie that looks like it was made from a phone cord from the the 1990’s. Seriously. I’d seen a ton of other bloggers using them, so when I saw them at Target I just grabbed them on impulse. At checkout, when I realized they were $8, I almost put them back. Eight bucks is a lot for 3 hair ties. But I decided to try them out and return them the next day if they weren’t magical. But, turns out, they are magical. Pure magic. I can put my hair up for hours, or even overnight, and have barely any crease. Gone are the days where once I put my hair up it’s stuck up until I wash it again. Now I can put it up and take it down as many times as I like. My hair gets in my way so much when I’m chasing the babies around, feeding them, changing diapers, etc. so I need to be able to put it up. On the other hand, I feel more human when my hair is a little styled. This little funky hair tie lets me have the best of both worlds. Like I said, I’m obsessed. (Apparently Target doesn’t sell them online. Boo!)
Something else that I’m obsessed with and have been raving about on Instagram is a champagne stopper that I got on Amazon. Last month, one of my January Favorites was Prosecco from Costco, but it was annoying to always have it go flat before I got to finish the bottle. I usually only have a glass or two every few days, so I felt like I was wasting my $7 Prosecco. This champagne stopper has been great for keeping my bubbly bubbly for over a week, so I can actually enjoy the whole bottle. I love that I can open a bottle for The Bachelor on Monday night and still have some for Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday.
I totally laughed out loud when I started seeing fanny packs on Instagram last year. Never in a million years did I see that coming. Fanny packs are like the butt of most jokes about 90’s fashion. But, I decided to bite the bullet and buy one for my trip to Disney. Even if it meant that my best friend made fun of me for it. Haha. I ended up loving it! My hands were free and there was nothing hanging on my shoulders or back. I did freak out a few times that I was forgetting something without a bag though! I can definitely say that I am now team fanny pack.
Jesse and I don’t like wearing our wedding rings. I’m sure some people think that’s weird, but we just don’t. Mine tend to get stuck if I get too warm (I blame the baby weight) and Jesse treats his like a fidget spinner. We stopped wearing them altogether a few years back. When he started his new job and traveling again Jesse bought a pack of silicone rings. He seemed to really like them, so I ordered some for myself right before my trip. It was nice to wear a ring again and even nicer to not worry about my finger swelling around the ring.
If you read my February Goals, then you know that one of my goals for the month was to read more. I was torn between reading You Are A Badass Everyday and Becoming by Michelle Obama, but I went with Becoming and I am so glad I did. It was such a page turner! I was surprised by how much I related to a First Lady. If you have any interest, I definitely recommend reading it!
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
I cannot decide whether or not I like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. I’ve watched the entire first season and am a few episodes into the second. I find it to be an interesting mixture of entertaining and boring. I just can’t quit it though! I felt this way about Amy Sherman-Palladino’s other show, Gilmore Girls. I watched all of it, but it was definitely not my favorite. However, that doesn’t seem to be a popular opinion, so I’m saying you should try it. Because maybe I’m just weird.
Now I’m off to watch more Mrs. Maisel! Have a fantastic weekend!
