Why This Is the Best Brownie Batter Dip Recipe?

  • Only 3 Ingredients – This delicious brownie batter dip only requires three ingredients! Those ingredients are cream cheese, whipped cream, and a box of brownie mix.
  • Thick and Flavorful – This dessert dip is thick and rich. But it’s not so thick that you can’t easily dip cookies or graham crackers in it. It’s perfect for brownie lovers who don’t want to turn the oven on!
  • Takes Less Than 5 Minutes to Make – Fast and easy desserts are the best! This chocolate dessert dip takes less than 5 minutes to whip up. (After you’ve heat treated the brownie mix).
  • Stores Easily – Pop a lid on this dip and stick it in the fridge to save it for later! It’s a great snack for movie night or add it to a dessert charcuterie board.

Brownie Batter Dip Ingredients

  • Brownie Mix – Grab your favorite box of brownie mix and use it to make this delicious dip. You could use a homemade brownie mix as well, but that makes it less easy!
  • Cream Cheese – Cream cheese adds a rich, tangy flavor to this no-bake brownie dessert. Be sure the cream cheese softens at room temperature so it is easier to work with.
  • Whipped Cream – Lighten up this dip with some whipped cream, or whipped topping. I prefer to use Cool Whip for dessert dips because it is easier than using homemade whipped cream.
  • Mini M&Ms – Use tiny chocolate candies to garnish the top of this dip. It adds a nice crunch and a bit of color. Colorful sprinkles, or mini chocolate chips, are also great toppings. If you like nuts in your brownies, then chopped walnuts are also great.

How to Make Brownie Batter Dip

This easy Brownie Batter Dip is an easy chocolate dessert. It has a rich, creamy texture that is perfect for dipping. It’s sure to be one of your new favorite easy party desserts.

Step 1 – First, you need to heat treat a box of brownie mix. Heat treatment kills the bacteria in the raw baking mixes that could make you ill. There are two different ways to heat-treat baking mix.

  1. Microwave – Pour the brownie mix into a large microwave-safe bowl. Heat the flour in one-minute increments until it reaches 165 degrees.
  2. Oven – Spread the brownie mix in an even layer inside of a 13 x 9 baking dish. Heat the mix at 350 degrees for about 5 minutes, or until the mix reaches a temperature of 165 degrees.

Step 2 – Allow the brownie mix to cool before mixing it into the cream cheese mixture.

Step 3 – In a large mixing bowl combine the cream cheese and whipped topping. Be sure the cream cheese is softened so it is easy to stir. Stir the creamy ingredients together by hand or use an electric hand mixer. You can also use a stand mixer if you prefer that method.

Step 4 – Next, add the brownie mix to the wet ingredients. Stir the mix in by hand or use the electric mixer again.

Step 5 – Transfer the Brownie Batter Dip to a serving bowl. Top this delicious dessert dip with mini M&M’s for an added crunch and a bit of color.

What to Serve with Brownie Batter Dip

This delicious chocolate dip pairs great with a variety of dippers, like fresh fruit, cookies, and salty pretzels.

  • Graham Crackers – Graham crackers are mildly sweet and the flavor isn’t overpowering. This makes them a great pairing for chocolate dips.
  • Vanilla Wafers – Another cookie without a strong flavor that pairs well with a variety of dessert dips.
  • Strawberries – There is no greater pair than chocolate and strawberries. Fresh strawberries and brownies are one of my favorite treats. This is even better because you can dip the berry into the brownie!
  • Pretzel Chips – For the sweet and salty crowd, try pairing pretzels with this brownie dip. It’s a great blend of the two flavors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I Heat Treat Baking Mix?

People generally think raw eggs are the danger in raw brownie batter, but it’s also the flour. Raw flour products are generally not safe for consumption. They have not been treated to eliminate bacteria, like salmonella. Eating non-treated raw flour products could result in food poisoning. So heat any cake mix or flour, just to be safe.
Flour should be heated to 165 degrees before consumption. Heat the cake mix in the microwave or oven and use a cooking thermometer to monitor the temperature.

Can I Make This Dip In Advance?

Absolutely! This dip is great for creating a few hours, or even a day, before serving. Just be sure to store it in an air-tight container!

How to Store this Dip

Store Brownie Batter Dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator. The container needs a tight seal, otherwise, the dip dries out. Then it is difficult to scoop and doesn’t taste as good. Keep this dip in the refrigerator for up to five days. Do not refreeze and thaw this dip!

This delicious dessert dip recipe tastes just like eating real brownie batter but without the risks. It’s creamy, chocolatey, and divine. Make it for your next party and watch it disappear!
