The day Disney+ was announced, all of my dreams came true. Just kidding, not ALL of them, but a lot of them. I’m so excited to have such a huge catalog of Disney movies and shows available for streaming. But what I’m really excited about are the new Disney+ exclusive shows. Today, the launch of Disney+ also means the premiere of the new Star Wars show, The Mandalorian. Cue me getting all sorts of giddy with excitement!

For those of you that aren’t huge Star Wars nerds, Boba Fett the bounty hunter was a Mandalorian. He became a fan favorite after his appearances in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Another favorite Mandalorian was Sabine Wren from the animated television series Rebels. Basically, Mandalorians are a race of warrior people and many of them find work around the galaxy as mercenaries and bounty hunters. And they all wear similar armor to that of Boba Fett.

While Boba Fett isn’t the star of the Mandalorian (not even sure he’s in the show), this Boba Fett cheese board was created in his honor.

How to Make This Boba Fett Cheese Board

Since I’m so excited about this new show, I wanted to go all out for our viewing party snack. This Boba Fett cheese board looks so fun and is definitely on theme. It was also super simple to make. It was less than $25 to buy all of the meats and cheeses.

This Star Wars Snack Board is another fun way to celebrate Star Wars movies and shows!

We’ve had a lot of luck buying charcuterie ingredients at Lidl lately. Their prices are more affordable than our usual grocery store and the quality is usually good. We have had a few misses, but I think that’s most places. I picked up a Parmesan and goat cheese here, as well as the prosciutto and Soppressata salami.

I grabbed the olives from the olive bar at Fresh Market. It’s usually a less expensive option for olives. The cheddar I used is from Kroger. It’s the Private Selection sharp cheddar and we buy it every week because the kids and I love it. I wanted this board to be simple and full of things we all enjoy.

I used an outline of Boba Fett’s helmet that I pulled up on my phone as a guide for creating this Boba Fett cheese board. It was definitely a little trickier than I thought it would be! It was easy for me to picture in my head what I was creating and to see it as I went.

Later, when I went back to edit the photos I realized that the cheese blended into the board and the meat and olives looked like meat undies. I restyled it, being sure to incorporate more contrast around the edges, and taking photos from above as I went to be sure my vision was translating. It turned out much better!

We plan on putting the kids to bed a little early, feasting on the Boba Fett cheese board while watching The Mandalorian and then exploring Disney+ more in-depth.
