The colors that I chose for my winter decorations this year are blue, green, and gold. It’s very simple, but also a little glam.
There’s a little bit of sadness that comes with taking down Christmas decorations, but once everything is put away the blank slate is like a breath of fresh air. I like to embrace that feeling and keep my winter decor super simple.
This year I wanted to incorporate a little more color into my winter decor also. Winter, especially the month of January, can feel never-ending and sad, so I wanted to have something a little fun going on. The colors that I chose for my winter decorations this year are blue, green, and gold. It’s very simple, but also a little glam.

**My decor was inspired by a box of home decor that I received from Decocrated. It’s a quarterly subscription for home decor. I’m doing an Instagram campaign for Decocrated and was compensated with a Winter box, but I’m under no obligation to blog about it. I just wanted to share my winter decor here and I used a lot of items from my box.**
Using Blue and Green Winter Decor on a Mantel
Let’s start with the mantel! I was so proud of myself for switching things up and now I seem to be addicted to layering art with a mirror. It’s just such an easy way to add color and keep it simple. Plus, it makes for a prettier background than brick.
The art here is a mini version of the painting that my husband made for over the couch. I layered the art with a piece from my Decocrated box that says “there may be no thing greater than a life well loved.” It’s a great reminder to enjoy the life I have and encourages me to do more of what I love. Perfect for the new year, right?
The ceramic trees were my winter decorations color palette inspiration and also from Decocrated. They are so cute! Also, I added a few gold candle votives and a snowflake one that I’ve had for a few years.
This was beautiful, but my mantel needed something else. I dug around in my decor and found the gold, glittery branches. They are a fun little touch and they sparkle in the light of the candles at night.

Couch and Coffee Table Winter Decorations
The couch didn’t change much from my Christmas decor. I kept the red floral pillows, which I made from napkins and the black and white pillows. I did receive a fun wintery pillow cover in my box, so I used that and a green throw. I’m obsessed with the pillow because it says “Getting cozy with it. Fa la la la la la la.” Go ahead and sing that to the beat of Will Smith’s Getting Jiggy with It. Yeah. Once I figured that out I decided this is my favorite pillow cover ever. The throw is definitely just for decoration because it’s super thin. I have a big sherpa blanket that I pull out every night to snuggle up on the couch. It’s just less pretty. 😉

For the sake of pictures and styling, I set out a tray (from Decocrated) with a candle and some cute winter art that also came in my box. I do not actually have my coffee table styled in real life. Our kids play in the living room, so the coffee table is typically covered in LEGO or tea parties.

Like I said, I kept all of my winter decorations super simple this year. I’m taking the next month or so to breathe and finish off other projects around the house. I want the living room to be a clean, uncluttered spot (at night once the kids are asleep) for me to retreat to after working in other rooms. Now I can light my candles, pull out my cozy blanket and enjoy a quiet winter evening.

I love that little sweater pillow! Such cute pieces! I’ll have to keep Decocrated in mind!
I love the happy palette for winter, it can be so dark and this is so friendly and cozy!
