Snacks are more fun with a theme! Grab some of the best movie snacks, like Milk Duds, and make a Black Widow snack board for movie night.
Black Widow, aka Natasha Romanoff, is one of my favorite Marvel characters. I created this snack board, inspired by her, for watching the Black Widow movie. Or any Avengers movie in general.

I used the best movie snacks for this fun-themed board. I love being able to watch new release movies at home because of all the snacks!
Marvel snack boards are kind of my thing. Check out this Hawkeye Board and Moon Knight Board!
Black Widow Snack Board
I stuck to a black and red color scheme for this snack board. The red is the most important part because it makes up the Black Widow’s red hourglass symbol.
Picking the Best Movie Snacks
After I decided on my color scheme, I picked the snacks! Obviously, the best movie snacks are Twizzlers and Milk Duds. Those definitely needed to be part of the board!
I also picked up Swedish Fish, black licorice, Starbursts, and dark chocolate. Ghiradelli makes dark chocolate in both red and black wrappers.

Create the Red Hourglass
To start, I used black licorice to make a black circle the size of my round board. Then I used the Twizzlers to create the red hourglass outline.
I wanted the proportions of the hourglass to be just right, which is why I made the black circle first.
I filled in the hourglass with Swedish Fish, red Starbursts, and the red wrapper of dark chocolates.
After I finished the red portion I deconstructed the black licorice circle.
Fill the Outside with Black Candies
I piled all of the licorice on one side of the hourglass. Dark chocolates in the black wrappers filled in the other side. I sprinkled Milk Duds along the tops and bottoms to fill the rest of the board.
Milk Duds are the best movie snacks, so even though they are brown they were absolutely necessary!

A Little Black Widow Backstory
The Black Widow film has been a long time coming. The story takes place after the events of Captain America: Civil War. Civil War was released in 2016! That was five years ago! In Civil War, Natasha sides with Steve Rogers (Captain America) and becomes a nomad on the run. Her character doesn’t appear again until Avengers: Infinity War. The events of Black Widow take place during the time between Civil War and Infinity War. Natasha must confront her past and broken relationships.
Marvel Studios started exploring the concept for a Black Widow film following the success of Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015. Age of Ultron gave a brief view into Black Widow’s past as a Soviet spy and her time in The Red Room.
The Red Room was a secret Soviet training and brainwashing facility. While I wasn’t a huge fan of how Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow) was presented in Age of Ultron, this little glimpse piqued my interest.
However, there was no room for the Black Widow project to fit in the first four “Phases” of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hence, why the movie wasn’t due to be released until Spring 2020. This date was moved back a year due to the pandemic.

Black Widow is one of my top 10 favorite MCU movies. This snack board is the perfect compliment to an amazing character and story.

OMG I LOVE THIS!!!! It’s creative enough to just have a movie candy charcuterie board, but to have it actually form the Black Widow symbol is even cooler. I definitely need to make this! I have no clue when I’ll get the chance to see the movie (so unlike me when it comes to Marvel, but ya know… moving life haha) but I can’t wait to enjoy it in the near future and I’ll absolutely be including this fun treat with it!
This is SUCH a fun idea! I might just have to make one of these when we (finally) watch Black Widow! I know, we should’ve just watched it last weekend…we were hoping for a rainy day and potentially seeing it in an actual theater.
My husband is dying to see the black widow! This snack board looks delicious and the perfect combination for my husband and myself!!!
