I cannot believe how fast time has flown by and that I’ve been blogging for a year now! I’m surprised and proud of myself for sticking with this and having a hobby that makes me happy, I’ve never stuck with anything like this before. And I’m even more surprised that a lot of you have been around for that long! You guys were strangers from the interwebz that have taken an interest in me, my life and my home and that is the most unreal part of all of this! So I raise a glass to you and putting up with me for so long, and let’s take a stroll down memory lane…
When I started this journey Jesse and I were living in our first home together, a small townhouse, and I took pictures with my hot pink Kodak camera from high school. Yikes!
Then you guys joined us on the long journey of buying a house,
and were there when we announced that we found “the one!”
We even got to meet Kristen and Joe in real life and proved that meeting people off the Internet isn’t always awkward 😉
And of course I’ve got to include my number of page views, 39,897, which totally blows my mind!
My most popular post, with over 1,800 views was my post on painting an old wingback chair from Craigslist. This one has become pretty Pinterest-popular as well!
This was surprising, but over 900 people were really into my post about what to do with the wood trim in our house! Just an update on that, the trim stays natural! 😉
And my fall mantel is not close behind with 880 views!
A few of my favorite Google searches that led people here are strange to say the least. I seriously couldn’t make some of these things up!
– Pinterest failures (Ouch! haha)
– Accountant costumes (Jeans and a t-shirt?)
– Best housewife tricks (I’m a very tricksy housewifeses, name that movie!)
– strawberries weird (Don’t get it)
– 11 year old basset hound has trouble breathing on and off (I’m sorry, but you may want to take him to a vet)
And my personal favorite:
– Good looking guy in my youth group (Definitely snagged myself one of those) 😉
It has definitely been a fun/crazy/busy/exciting year and I’m looking forward to many more! (I’ll talk more about the future of the blog Thursday!)
Do you have a favorite post of mine? Can you believe some of the things people do Google searches for?!
