1st Blogiversary: An Ordinary Day

One of my favorite typical blogiversary posts is when bloggers take you through a day in their life. I always find it really fascinating, so I decided to do the same thing. Too bad I think my life is boring, but maybe you guys are nosey, so for your sake let’s walk through a typical day in my life!

6:50 am – Jesse wakes up and gets in the shower, I wake up but roll over and go back to sleep.

7:15ish – Jesse leaves for work, so I get up and start getting ready while blasting music.

8:05 – Head downstairs to grab my lunch and put together my breakfast.

8:15ish – Leave for work and turn on the Elvis Duran Morning show (It’s my guilty pleasure)

8:30 – Get to work, start up my computer, check emails and eat breakfast

9:30 – 11:30 – Deleting old files from our servers (it’s my task for this month). This takes forever, but gives me time to read blogs while things delete.

11:30 – Go downstairs and check the mail and have my morning snack.

12 pm – Lunch time! I had tuna, yum! Check Facebook, Twitter and personal emails.

12:30 – Check my blog comments for the day thus far and moderate where needed.

1:00 – Take the daily deposit to the bank and take pictures of the goats that just showed up in our office parking lot.

1:30 – Back in the office, but up and chatting (after the bank it takes me a few awhile to get back on track)

2:00 – Respond to blog emails and comments again, more FB and more Twitter, update my daily calorie count on My Fitness Pal.

2:30 – 4:50 – Get back on task with work and checking blogs 😉

4:50 – Close out accounts for the day, close up the office and go home!

5:15 – Arrive at home and de-brief about our days with the hubby

5:45 – Usually I take this time to work out (30 mins. of the treadmill or Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30) but Jesse was going to basketball practice, so I get started on dinner instead.

6:30 – Time to eat! (I tried a new recipe, that I’ll be writing about next week!)

6:40 – Jesse leaves for basketball, so I get started on cleaning the house.

8:00 – House is pretty clean and I’m bored so I head to Food Lion to get ice cream!

8:30 – Eat ice cream and decide to be productive and start writing this post 😉 (I only wear my glasses when I’m being productive) And finish entering my daily calories.

9:00 – Watch the debate with Jesse and finish reading all the blogs I follow on Google Reader.

11:00 – Start getting ready for bed, brush my teeth and apply my Proactive regime to keep my skin from turning back into that of a 15 yr. old.

Lay in bed and stare at the ceiling until my brain finally shuts down.

Well, there ya go! A boring average day in my life. Be lucky I didn’t do this on a Friday or you’d read about the hour or two we spend doing bills 😉

How is your day different than mine? What do you typically do on a Tuesday night?

  1. Congrats on your first blogiversary! I really like the day in the life posts, as well. I should do that some time! Although I think mine is pretty boring, plus many days I work from home so I’d have even less to talk about, haha.

  2. 1. I listen to Elvis too (in Cleveland, Ohio) on my commute to work, although I hear them from 6 am till 7 am (during my drive) since I start work at 7.
    2. PLEASE tell me that is a post-it note on the back of your phone. My husband (and others) laugh at me daily for using post-its on my phone when I could just type it somewhere in my phone.

  3. Fun post, Ashley 🙂 I don’t know why you think your day was boring, you had goats in the parking lot at work! A typical work day for me is spent pretty much on Facebook and blogging stuff 🙂

    Happy 1st Blogiversary!

  4. You’re adorable! The tooth brushing picture is so cute. I really like to read these posts too… and don’t worry, my life isn’t any more exciting than yours!

    1. Nope, I’m not really a coffee drinker though I do enjoy the occasional peppermint mocha.

It’s dill pickles, cant have tuna without it!

And yep, blue leopard pjs! 🙂

  5. These posts are always so interesting…thanks for sharing!! And I listen to Elvis Duran and the Morning show every.single.day. I never put them on during my drive into work, but I play them on my iHeartRadio app and listen to the replay all day long. I LOVEEEEEE them!!

  6. I use post-its on the back if my phone too. Otherwise I would never look at my to-do list. Day in the life posts are always interesting… No matter how slow your day is.

  7. Yes, me too for the reminder with the post-it outside. Still no one gets it. 🙁 Sigh. Glad I have a fellow post-it note on the phone fan now.

  8. My typical day sounds almost identical to yours, except my job tasks are a bit different. LOL. Congratulations on your first blogiversary! Mine is next month and it is in no way as good as yours. Most of my readers are friends and family on Facebook. I think I need to start commenting more on the blogs I read so I can pick up more readers. And I need to get a more steady stream of blog posts.

  9. Love these kind of posts! It’s always interesting to know how people live their lives, especially when you read about them day after day.

And my life is infinitely more boring than yours. I get up, get ready for work, drive, “work”, come home, eat, watch tv, then sleep. Boom…every day of the week.

And I am glad you didn’t do this Friday 😉

  10. I love Day in the life posts. I’m mostly impressed that you are up so late. I’m not a night person. Or a morning perso for that matter. It grove at 10 am. ;). My child doesn’t really care though, so I’m up at all hours.
