If you’ve learned anything about me from reading this blog, it’s probably that I’m a tad OCD and I like to set goals to help me stay on top of my to-do lists. I’ve made a list almost everyday the past few weeks to help me stay on top of the cleaning and unpacking of the new house. I officially unpacked all of the boxes and have cleaned up the house, I even hung some of our art on the walls.
I think my favorite accomplishment is the gallery wall in our bedroom, it’s far from being done, but it really makes me happy.
I really love what the silver frames add to the white frames. It really makes me smile.
I also got our mantle in the living room set up, even though it’ll change a bunch of times.
I catch myself smiling at this display too, while we’re watching this bad boy:
It’s a 47″ Vizio that we got from Target on Sunday. It was on sale for $639 and we had a $100 gift card leftover from the wedding! We got an antenna so we can watch basic tv and entertain guests for movie nights without being embarrassed of our tiny tube tv.
On Monday, I also went and picked up this beautiful chair that I got for $25 off Craigslist.
I’m planning on using Kristy from Hyphen Interiors tutorial and painting this fabric a midnight blue or black and making a reading nook for Jesse.
I just love planning and decorating! And I’m hosting friends tonight at the house, so I’m really excited for that too!
What a great Craigslist find! I wish we had something like that here. (Well, we do, but people would ask at least $150 for that, which kind of defeats the purpose).
It is so much fun to see your house start to come together! I know you’ve got to be feeling happy and more settled. What you’re doing is lovely. Pretty freaking sweet TV you got there! And that chair! What a find!
Oh my goodness, you’re productive!
Your apartment is really coming together nicely! I’m the same way with ocd. Its so bad that I’d rewrite my lists, lol. I downloaded ever note on my phone then and now that’s where I keep all of my lists.
Everything is looking so good! You’ve gotten waaay more done in a few weeks than I would have. Sweet find on the chair too. I have never had any luck with Craigslist.
The gallery wall is coming along great! I too love the silver frames mixed in with the white.
looking good! i’m so bummed to miss tonight & not get to see your progress in person!
I can’t work without lists either! I get lost. That’s a nice chair too!
Aren’t gallery walls wonderful?? I immediately felt like we had finally done something when we started ours. And I can’t wait to see the chair redone! I’m going to attempt to recover our lampshades, but I’m not ambitious enough to try furniture yet!
I rearrange stuff constantly at our house. I’m moving stuff in cabinets and in the living room constantly. We have a sort of gallery wall in the dining room, but it’s more like a huge collage. I love it. Yours is looking great!
I can’t wait to see how the chair turns out!
You totally beat us! We don’t have any pictures hung up on our walls or displayed through our house yet! It all looks great. I really can’t wait to see how the fabric painting goes. It’s so intriguing, yet nerve-wracking to me!
Your house is looking so cute! It’s really turning into a “home”! I am eager to see this chair makeover, the lines are so pretty in it! Have a good weekend!
That’s an awesome Craigslist find. Sometimes I wish I had a little bit of OCD in me. But nope… I am just a procrastinator.
We have just the basic cable too. We switched a few years ago and I haven’t missed it since. We used the money we saved from paying DirectTV and bought a computer to hook up to the TV so we can watch Hulu on the big screen.
I’m anxious to see how the chair turns out! Love seeing projects like that. I’m also really digging the silver in the gallery wall.
Sweet deal on the TV! And on the chair! I can’t wait to see what you do with it.
What a great idea! I can’t wait to see the chair painted. I hope you are going to post a tutorial! Everything else looks wonderful.
Thanks for all the inspiration.
blessings,
karianne
So fun to see you getting all settled…great start to the gallery wall and I love your mantle set up. Does it even make sense that I feel at the same stage here and we’ve been here over 2 years?!? Haha.
that chair has amazing bones!! and $25, that’s amazing. i wish my hubby or i had cars other than sedans
. we can’t ever fit cool things like this in them!!
Your house is coming together beautifully. Score on the TV! And I’m glad your getting your gallery wall together. I’m finally ready to share mine; I feel like I’ve been talking about it forever. Can’t wait to see more updates!
