I’m Ashley and the handsome man is my husband Jesse. We said our I Do’s in April 2011 and are currently carrying out the “happily ever after” part. We met as kids in our church’s youth group and started out as friends. The friends stage didn’t last long and we turned into crushes but waited to date until after I started college (I got myself an older man by a whopping 3 years!) We started dating in October 2007 and got engaged on Christmas Day 2009. We couldn’t be more perfect for each other! We both love Star Wars and Harry Potter, like to talk in weird voices, and love to laugh.
We recently bought our first house outside of Richmond, VA (RVA!). We’re busying painting, hanging and all around customizing our new space to make it our own before we fill it with precious children! And you get to follow all of our adventures here! Yay you!

I like your blog. I just found it by reading Buffalo-roam.com. My husband and I also are newlyweds-ish(June 2010) and are looking for our first home. We live in CT. We also love Harry Potter and were at Universal Studios on opening day for the Harry Potter park. If you haven’t been you need to go. It is a amazing!! Butterbeer is delicious. We went to Harry Potter when we went to Disney World for our honeymoon! We couldn’t resist hopping over to Universal to check it out!
That’s funny we went to Disney and Universal for our honeymoon too. It worked out perfectly that the Harry Potter grand opening was the week we were there.
Your love story is much like our 2nd daughter’s and her husband’s, who met as kids in youth group and even though they both had huge crushes, decided not to have the typical jr high or high school dating relationship, and wisely put that off til later. But since they decided to wait to date until they were ready to consider marriage, they were engaged in about 6 months, and married 3 1/2 months after that! That was last summer. Since she and her older sister married 19 days apart, it was a busy summer and gave me lots of blog material.

Just found you through a comment on YHL and am loving catching up! Are you from Richmond?? My husband and I live in Austin, TX currently but are looking to move closer to Baltimore (my hometown) and four seasons. Richmond is on the list, so I’m curious of what people think of it.
I absolutely love Richmond! I’ve lived here since I was 5 and my husband moved here at 12 and we both couldn’t imagine leaving. I think it’s the perfect little city with plenty to do but not as much hustle and bustle.
